About the role

Building the fintech mobility platform of the future necessitates putting data at the heart of everything we do. To support this mission we are building a newly created Data function composed of Data Science, Engineering, Analytic and Governance subgroupings. Our Governance unit is seeking experienced and creative business analysts who want to use their skills to improve people’s lives and help us democratize mobility through fintech.

As the Data Governance Specialist, you will contribute to establishing common processes and procedures critical to data governance including data management; curating and extending the data taxonomy catalogue and quality scorecard; and communicating the strategic and operational progress of data management to data owners and the steward community. Your key responsibilities will be to:

• Partner with Security and Data Protection to identify, tag, and develop data management strategies for masking and protecting sensitive data within architecture, including driving the introduction of tools and processes to simplify identification and management
• Work with Program management and data governance councils to define data governance processes and explore automation to enable scaling. Ensure controls are in place for access and security
• Develop and deploy data governance framework/standards consisting of data standards, processes and procedures in the areas of data ingestion, data movement, data quality, master & reference data, data life cycle management and metadata management
• Document sources of truth for data enabling consistent data sources, definitions, structures and processes.
• Work closely with Business owners to onboard critical data assets
• Create and conduct governance processes to measure Data Management and Data Quality maturity
• Establish relevant processes toward data integrity, user trust, and data access
• Document, assess, influence, and synthesize business requirements
• Understand the upstream and downstream data impact.
• Help implement enterprise data catalogue documenting data glossaries, taxonomy, metadata, usage, and lineage
• Establish KPIs for periodic measurement and reporting to the data governance councils
• Educate & drive adoption of data governance practices by showing its impact on business decision-making

Qualifications and experience

• Experience with enterprise data governance, content, compliance, and security programs
• Experience in creating policies, standards, and playbooks
• Strong Experience with SQL
• Ability to communicate effectively with technical and business teams, drive issues to closure
• Strong understanding of IT systems, metadata management, data management, and data stewardship
• Strong time management and organization skills
• Ability to drive multiple projects concurrently
• Experience in Master Data Management, data governance, data analysis, data profiling, data quality and system integration
• Experience working in Data catalogue, Data Lineage and Governance practices
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, MIS, Engineering or a related technical discipline preferred
